An inclusive community for gamers of all types.

Welcome to ‹Praxis›, a progressive gaming community for Guild Wars 2.

Praxis aims to provide a safe and welcoming gaming and discussion environment for mature players of any gender identity or expression, race, ethnicity, size, nationality, sexual orientation, ability level, neurotype, religion, elder status or family structure.

In order to do this, we ask our members to abide by the following principles:

#1: Inclusiveness

Gamers come in all shapes, sizes, races, genders and gender expressions, sexualities, ages, family backgrounds, neurotypes and abilities.

As such, Praxis is welcoming of players of all backgrounds. It should be an environment where all our players feel comfortable and confident: comfortable logging on, interacting with other members, asking for help and discussing issues; confident knowing their contributions will be valued and their achievements recognised.

We might all come from different backgrounds, but we all chose this community for a reason.

#2: Respect

We don’t just preach inclusiveness; our members are expected to practice it.

At the end of the day, games are games and we assume our members play them to relax. Pursuant to #1 above, many of our members will have spent their Really Real World time in environments that belittle, discriminate and alienate them, often while simultaneously telling them such an experience is “normal”. Praxis operates under the assumption that they shouldn’t have to deal with that sort of behaviour in their down-time.

As such, language or actions that are discriminatory, hateful or othering (e.g. using homophobic, transphobic, ableist, racist, sexist or gender essentialist language) will not be tolerated in Praxis-run environments, such as in-game chat and the forum.

Inclusion is both powerful and fragile. If you can’t go half an hour without sprouting something designed to dehumanize an entire group of people, this probably isn’t the place for you.

#3: Dedication

Finally, this might be just a game, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t SRS BIZNESS. Even “casuals” like to play well.

Praxis members are expected to realise that “learn2play” doesn’t actually mean copying builds off websites and knowing which order to press hotkeys. This is a community; even when you soloing, playing well is about learning to work together and alongside with guildmates and the rest of the server.

As such, we expect all members to refrain from anti-social activities including trolling, bullying, griefing, ganking and exploiting.

Remember, as a member of Praxis you’re the one representing our community out in the wild. Make ’em all jealous.

… and that’s it!

Praxis is mostly currently active in GW2 and operates on the Crystal Desert server. Our guild hall is in Gilded Hollow. Owl Power is our official sibling guild.

If all that sounds good, and you think you might like to join up, email [email protected] or message dee.2134 in-game.
